Lloyd Williams, 92, Vintondale native, oldest lifetime resident, former postmaster

Lloyd Williams, 92, who was at the time of his death the oldest lifetime resident of Vintondale, died in Vintondale on January 27. Born in Vintondale on July 7, 1910, Williams was known by everyone in the village as the fomer postmaster, a post he held for 12 years; a member of the town council for many years; owner-operator of Williams Economy Store for 14 years, and a longtime deacon of the First Baptist Church of Vintondale.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 31, at Askew-Houser Funeral Home in Nanty Glo, the Rev. Rich Stock officiating. Interment will be at Mount Union Cemetery, Alverta. Friends will be welcomed at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
