 Nanty Glo's St. Mary's School
 receives 10 new computers
April 19, 2002

St. Mary's Parochial School, Nanty Glo, received 10 new Dell computers in the fall semester through the Link to Learn funding program approved by former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge. Mrs. Rosemary Conzo, the Principal of St. Mary's, says all classrooms at St.Mary's School will get at least one new computer and a couple classrooms will get two. The units are being networked one room at a time and will eventually have access to the Internet. The photo above shows the computer in the kindergarten room of teacher Mrs. Erin Buynack, shown with student Caleb Oldham. The Gates Foundation, which recently donated four new computers to the Nanty Glo Public Library, is offering training in most Pennsylvania schools (at least 80 percent), Mrs. Conzo said, which training will cover technology in the schools and will involve members of the whole community. This will take place at the Intermediate Unit 08 (IU08) Tech Center in Duncansville. Mrs. Conzo also said that all school principals participating in the training will be given Personal Data Assistants, handheld computers.
