Frank Charney's Sunday Postcard
December 21, 2008
Christmas greeting and a city's winter scenes
I am keeping this Sunday Post simple. I don't know if everyone has PowerPoint to view the attached slides, but I thought the winter scenes of the city of Quebec with the accompanying song might help get everyone into the spirit of Christmas.
A Happy and Merry Christmas to you and your family, and all the contributors who make the Nanty Glo web site feel like a "home away from home" for those who departed for places elsewhere.
Editor's note: If you have the Open Office free software I recommended here on December 11, it will play the slides and the accompanying music. In addition to the Open Office suite (linked in the first mention above), Microsoft offers a free PowerPoint viewer, which can be downloaded here, which will play PowerPoint presentations (but does not let you create presentations of your own). If you have either of these installed on your computer (or if you aren't sure and want to find out if you do), click the preview photo below. If you have a PowerPoint viewer, doing so will open the slide show. If you don't see a full-screen slide, click the menu item atop the page, "Slide Show," and when that menu opens, click "Slide Show" again and it will launch. (Beautiful slides, Frank, and I love the song, which was new to me.) JK
It's cold here in the Northeast. You have to dress in layers when it's this cold. For instance, right now I'm wearing two hairpieces.
Thought for today
I got a simple rule about everybody. If you don't treat me right, shame on you.
