A great leftwing conspiracy? A tongue-in-cheek rumination

If I were as keen on conspiracy theories as former First Lady Hillary Clinton is, I'd have to wonder if I'm not the victim of a great leftwing conspiracy, similar to the great rightwing conspiracy Mrs. Clinton found herself victimized by when she and Bill were living in the White House. Last week, I was challenged to exercise discipline against four members of the Nanty Glo Forum List, suspending their membership, for the first time ever. All four were rude and/or insulting to yours truly and/or our associate editor. Judy Rose. The common theme was that there is too much religion and politics on the Home Page and, especially, these weekly Jonal postcards.

From the beginning of the Home Page I have maintained that no topic of interest to residents and former residents of Blacklick Valley is beyond the scope of either the permanent online letters forum or the dynamic email forum. The only restriction on either has been that the content must be appropriate for readers of all age levels, and after last week's outbursts I'm adding, "must not be rude or insulting to others on the list or on the Home Page staff." On the Yahoolists page describing the email forum is the following, which has been there from the list's beginning (emphasis added):

This is where people interested in Pennsylvania's Blacklick Valley meet to discuss their interests. Topics have included music in our lives, school memories, playing in the woods, faith concerns and others.

But on what evidence do I conclude that a great leftwing conspiracy is at work? Consider these facts: 1. that the clamor last week came in response to my series advocating conservatism over against liberalism, 2. that all the rudeness and attacks came from the left side of the list, and pre-eminently, 3. that if the Home Page can be dissuaded from expressing political views and giving a platform for others to air theirs in the Valley, only one other communications medium, long known for its Democratic loyalties, will have a monopoly on that function.

What else could it be?
