Good Morning Nanty Glo!

Photo of the week
This week's photo by Judy Rose

Woodman, spare that three! This is the fate of a stately old shade tree that gets too big for it's britches...er roots, as the case may be. This 60-foot-tall silver maple was most likely planted in 1917 when the tiny mining town of Revloc was planned and constructed by the Monroe Coal Company. What had taken mother nature over 80 years to build was removed in eight hours by a man with a chain saw as hour after hour and with the grace of a ballet dancer, the tree removal service employee in the "cherry picker" maneuvered his way through the tree limbs and 13,000 volt power lines. Job hunting anyone? The line forms to the right!. —Judy Rose

SERENITY NOW: I am into solitude, long walks, sunrises, the ocean, yoga, and meditation. If you are the silent type, let's get together, take our hearing aids out, and enjoy quiet times.
