| The Nanty Glo Journal
of May 21, 1925 reported: "The Nanty Glo high school will
have a class of nine graduates to finish the four-year course this year,
this being the first time in the history of the school that a four-year
course had been offered. Commencement exercises will be held in the Church
of the Brethren on Thursday evening, June 4th.
"The additional year of work that has been added to the curriculum has proved very popular, and has placed the Nanty Glo schools on a par with any others in the county. Heretofore it has been necessary for young people here who wished to complete their high school education and prepare for entrance to college to go to Ebensburg or elsewhere for the final year. Now home pupils and those from adjoining townships are able to get this work here. "The graduating class this year consists of three young men and six young ladies, as follows" and the paper first listed the three boys followed by the six girls, even though not in alphabetical order. |
