Writes
Sallie Covolo, wife of class member Dominick Covolo: "The class reunion was
a great success. Everyone had a great time, thanks to much hard work on those
that organized it and put it together. The dinner-dance at the country club at
Ebensburg was wonderful and everyone was so friendly and mixing so well and catching
up with the past. The picnic next day at the Nanty Glo park and pool was very
well attended and a lot of fun."
Adds Judy Rose, there with husband and class of '50 member Hobe Rose, and the
photographer for the event: "Following the Saturday evening dinner/dance,
a more casual get-together in the form of a picnic was held on Sunday afternoon
in the Lion's Club Pavilion at the Nanty Glo Park and Pool. Sunday's picnic group
was a bit smaller than the attendance at the previous night's affair but nevertheless
a good time was had by all. Everyone mingled and renewed old friendships, did
a lot of "catching up," and taking trips down memory lane. A catered picnic lunch
of fried chicken, cold salads, franks and kraut, baked beans, hot and cold beverages
and a sheet cake for dessert topped off the afternoon before the Nanty Glo High
School Class of 1953 said their goodbyes until the next reunion. The following
is a random selection of pictures taken at the picnic: Enjoy!" |
