More praise for 'October Sky'
Letter No. 91 | March 27, 1999
A message to all you readers of the Nanty Glo Home Page who grew up in Nanty Glo in the 'fifties. I recently saw a newly released movie called October Skies. It's a great movie set in the 'fifties in a small coalmining town in West Virginia. They did a great job in depicting life as it was in the schools, coal mines, and homes in that era. It brought back a lot of good memories about company stores, high school, and life in a small town in the 'fifties. I'm certain you will enjoy this movie.
The movie was filmed in Tennessee but if you let your imagination go you can convince yourself it was filmed in Nanty Glo.
Jon, keep up the good work.
Sincerely John (Marty) McMullen
