'Home town girl' vying for 'Ms.
Thunder' title; please vote for her

Letter #388, June 14, 2012

Vote for the HOME TOWN girl.

I am collecting votes for my granddaughter, Michelle Myers, who is vying for "Ms. Thunder" in this year's annual Thunder in the Valley. Michelle is 20 years old and is in college studying nursing. She works part time to help with college expenses. In her spare time, and for many years, she has been involved in 4-H where she has raised and trained horses.

Michelle Myers
Aside from Michelle being my granddaughter, she is a lifelong resident of Mundys Corner and graduated from Central Cambria High School . She has taken all her prereq classes at Penn Highlands Community College and will be entering the nursing program at Mount Aloysius this fall. Her plans for winning the Ms. Thunder contest is to hopefully be able to buy her books for college. She has been a lifelong horseback rider and trainer, and has won prizes over the years at the Cambria County Fair.
