Stories needed for Nanty Glo
program for Public TV

Letter #373, December 16 2011

Local public television station WPSU-TV (channel 3 for most viewers) will be bringing the popular "Our Town" series to Nanty Glo. The series gives residents the opportunity to share their stories about what makes their hometown special. We want to shine the spotlight on the Blacklick Valley region and let everyone know all the great history, people, places and happenings that you have around you.

We're trying to get the word out about the project now. Everyone is invited to participate. We'll be putting a small group together at first to help us plan the initial launch of the project—how to spread the word and get the community involved; what stories should we try to make sure we encourage people to step up and tell; some locations we should be sure to capture on video, etc.

This project is for the entire community and we're here to help. We're seeking stories from the residents and volunteers from the area to help us tell the stories. It's their photos and video that will illustrate the Nanty Glo show. We'll guide everyone every step of the way and put it all together, but it's stories about your town. There is no experience required to be a part of the project, just pride for your town and neighbors and enthusiasm to help us make Nanty Glo shine to the WPSU audience!

We've been very impressed by your site and would appreciate any assistance in spreading the word about the project. Any input you have about getting folks involved would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide!
