Corrections to NYTimes Vintondale story

Letter No. 228 | February 4, 2001

Dear Jon,

[In reference to letter no. 226] As far as I have been told, all of Vintondale's coke was shipped via the Buffalo, Rochester, and Pittsburgh Railroad which went from Buffalo to Punxy to Indiana to Black Lick, Pa. The BR&P had special trackage rights from the Ebensburg and Blacklick Branch of the PRR to take coal and coke from Vintondale north to Buffalo. One of the major customers was ____ Cyanamide in Buffalo. The entire name slips my mind at the moment.

Also, Vintondale #6 mine closed for good in 1968, not 1963.
