Seeking info on Welsh forebears
— Thomas, Williams

Letter No. 217 | January 5, 2001

I have just started researching my family history and have been told that some of my relatives emigrated to Pennsylvania in the early 1900's.

They originated in Nantyglo in South Wales. As my grandfather, John Rees Thomas, was a coal miner it is possible that his brother Thomas Thomas ( the one who emigrated) may have come to your town.

I was looking at the Nantyglo, South Wales, website and found the link to your site. After reading the blue sign on your site it seems as though you are a mining community as well. I would be very interested to here from anyone who's family originated in South Wales.

A long shot, but you never know

Best wishes,
Keith Williams
