The picture of Nanty Glo, is a scene along Second Street, one of the principal residence streets, looking down from the west toward the center of town.

View of Spring St., in the Barker Row section of Nanty Glo, looking towards Cardiff Road. Many improvements have been made in this residence district in recent years and city mail delivery has been extended to include the addition.
AUGUST 3, 1944 FAMILIAR NANTY-GLO STREET SCENE
The view shown here doesn’t exactly do justice to the site. It was taken from the top of the hill in front of the high school, looking down Chestnut Street. Some of the business section is shown in the distance. Excavation of the hill is now in progress at the corner of Chestnut and Second streets for the erection of a new business and apartment building after the war when building material is available by Fred Edwards.
