Where are they now?
Hobe Rose

This week's feature is personal...and, to me, very special. With great pride and affection, as he approaches his 70th birthday, I present to you my loving and very supportive husband..Hobe Rose.

Born March 30, 1932, in Nanty Glo, Hobe is a 1950 graduate of Nanty Glo High School and a graduate of Penn State University with an associate degree in electrical engineering technology. Retired since 1986 from Bethlehem Mines Corporation, Hobe has spent his retirement years pursuing his life-long hobbies of fishing and hunting and basically just enjoying all the things life has to offer and making himself available to lend a helping hand to those in need of his excellent electrical and plumbing expertise.

Married to me since November 9, 1985, Hobe and I enjoy a blended family of six grown children and twelve grandchildren that range in age from 7 months to 23 years of age. We now make our home in Revloc and look forward to visits from family and friends.

Hobe has worn many different hats over the course of his life...student, soldier, union coalminer, mine shop foreman, husband, father, and grandfather...and worn them all with pride, grace, and dignity....

And so, today we say to our "Hobe Darling," "Pops," "Dad," "Hobie," and "Pop-Pop"...Happy Birthday!..."We love You"

Cute signs (end of series)

At a car dealership: "The best way to get back on your feet—miss a car payment."

Outside a muffler shop: "No appointment necessary. We hear you coming."

In a veterinarian's waiting room: "Be back in 5 minutes. Sit! Stay!"

At the electric company: "We would be de-lighted if you pay your bill. However, if you don't, you will be."

In a restaurant window: "Don't stand there and be hungry. Come on in and get fed up."

In the front yard of a funeral home: "Drive carefully. We'll wait."

At a propane filling station: "Tank heaven for little grills."

And don't forget the sign at a Chicago radiator shop: "Best place in town to take a leak." .

Lenten thought for today

The essense of Christianity is summed up in one mind-boggling sentence: Jesus Chris is God (John 10:30). Not just part of God...or sent by God...or related to God. He is God.
