Where are they now?
Dave Cruley

Born July 25, 1966, in Passaic, New Jersey, Dave grew up in Cardiff, Blacklick Township. A 1984 graduate of Blacklick Valley High School, Dave went on to further his education at Penn State University, graduating in 1988 with a degree in computer science. Married to Rhoade Island native, the former Becky Darakyan, since June 27, 1992, Dave and Becky are now the proud and loving parents of two children, Amanda, age 5, and Nathan, age 3.

Dave, Becky, children and the family pet, a mixed breed dog named "Sandy," currently make their home in Herndon, Va., where Dave works as a software engineer for Rational Software, a California-based computer software company. Dave and Becky are very active in their local Methodist church and volunteer their time to Habitat for Humanity, helping to build homes for those in need. They are also involved in an organization called Christmas in April. an interesting and very proactive group numbering approximately 100 volunteers who assemble, coordinate, and complete the remodeling of an entire house interior within a one-day timeframe. Dave states the process is "interesting to watch and fun to participate in."

One of Dave's favorite memories of growing up in Blacklick Valley was the outdoor life. "I miss the outdoors...of being able to go into the woods. When I lived there, we went hunting and fishing....I miss that more than anything." Dave returns 'home' to the Blacklick Valley area three or four times a year for family gatherings. Thought for today

The constant invocation of the Name of God is a medicine that cures not only all the passions but also their effects. As a physician applies a cure or a poultice to the patient's wound, and these take effect though the patient himself does not know how this happens, so the name of God when invoked kills all passions, although we do not know how.
