A little detour off the state highway down Pergrim Hill, to the right, leads to Christoff Street. It used to be you couldn't miss it, but now it's almost hidden behind a row of trees. And it's also much prettier than it used to be, but it's the only section of Nanty Glo that has the "company town" look, all the houses on the street having been created identical to each other. These are substantial houses, however, not the wood frame dwellings that sometimes were the trademark of coal company towns. And now they've been enhanced with many personal touches that give them individuality.
