Bethlehem Steel-C&I buys abandoned rail right of way
Railpace newsmagazine reported yesterday that Bethlehem Steel's Cambria & Indiana Railroad will purchase the abandoned 9.6-mile portion of the Blacklick Secondary, between Ebensburg Junction (milepost 6.4), and Nanty Glo (milepost 16) from RJ Corman. The Surface Transportation Board mediated a dispute between RJ Corman and the Cambria & Indiana concerning the purchase price of the road. RJ Corman had set a value of $450,988; the Cambria & Indiana contended that its fair market value is $241,622. The STB set the sale price at $341,774.
