Wants help touring the area

I hope to be visiting Nantglo, Abertillery, Church of the Holy Trinity Drybrook (which is near Ruardean), and the Gloucestershire Record Office in April 2002. The Record Office was helpful to me several years ago in filling in some family history pieces.

I would be looking for a place to stay and guide (perhaps a college student or adult familiar with these places), in particular. I know that my great grandfather and mother were married in the Holy Trinity Drybrook on April 26, 1868, so I want to visit this church. I'd also like to attend a couple of choir rehearsals in a local church if this is possible, being a Methodist organist and choir director and music therapist.

My great grandfather, James Roy Jones, was born April 1, 1846, in Nantyglo, though there have been no records from Glouchestshire to verify what's in my Welsh family Bible. My great grandmother, Ann(a) Morgan Jones was born November 23, 1847, in Abertillery, though no records have turned up attesting to this fact. They had 6 children born in Wales, though Glouchestshire Records have only turned up one and that is for my grandfather, William John Jones, b. Nov. 18, 1879 Garnvach, Bedwellty; Aberystruth, Monmouth County.

I look forward to being in touch with someone who might be willing to help me as a tourist and help me in my research. I will be traveling alone and am 60 y young.

Thank you,
Bill Jones
